Recent NHL Draft Picks, Michael & Ryan McLeod Train With HS – Part 1

Check out these guys’ skills! Today we have a set of star studded hockey tutorial videos for you. First up we have brother’s Ryan and Michael McLeod, who have been training over at the BTNL Training Centre using only the best Hockey Shot products. Michael was drafted in 2016 to the New Jersey Devils as the #12 pick in the first round. Ryan, following in his brother’s footsteps, was drafted in 2018 to the Edmonton Oilers.

Here we see Ryan using the HS Off-Ice Speed Deke Trainer, a new addition to the Hockey Shot Product Line. Both McLeod brothers have been using the Speed Deke Trainer to improve their stick handling and create a flexible space to be able to deke.

His deft puck handling skills and control over his speed are the defining aspects of his offensive abilities.
— As Curtis Joe said about the oldest sibling

Keep up the great work, Michael!

Next up Ryan demonstrates the ultra-useful HS Extreme Defender. Ryan has been using the Extreme Defender during weeks of training, and it still looks as good as ever! As ISS Hockey 2017 said , he is an “effortless skater, extremely fluid in all aspects, great speed & edges”, 2018 is expected to be Ryan’s breakout year.

After getting his offensive practice on the Extreme Glide Synthetic Ice panels, Ryan goes for the goal with the HS Extreme Shooter Tutor. Congratulations on being chosen 40th overall at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Connor McDavid and the rest of the Oilers are lucky to have you.

Chances are you have heard of Pavel Barber, the legendary stickhandling specialist. After 20+ years in the business, Pavel has brought a new dimension to Hockey Training Camps by providing coaching on areas of expertise that not many players have. HockeyShot is constantly working with hockey professionals like Pavel to create new and inventive ways to help you improve your game. His skills are next level, the technology is advanced, and the players just keep getting better.

Finally, we leave you with a teaser from the NHL Professional Camp in August 2017.

HockeyShot and BTNL love to work with professional athletes to see how we can improve the training of those who aspire to be in the NHL. Even the pros use Hockey Shot equipment, like Off-Ice Speed Deke Trainer you see in the video below. Keep watching for more training videos so you can play like the NHL star of your dreams!

Dan Ninkovich

If you’re looking for the whole package, Dan Ninkovich is your guy! Dan’s impressive training list is long and includes some of your favorite NHL’ers: Connor McDavid, Phil Kessel, John Tavares, Jason Spezza, Matt Duchene and many more!

It’s not a surprise that these guys put their athletic goals in Dan’s hands, with his astounding list of credentials Ninkovich never stops learning, making him a wealth of knowledge when it comes to sports conditioning, general fitness, nutrition, and anatomy. Dan’s Bachelor of Kinesiology was followed by some impressive certifications and memberships:

- Certified Specialist in Sports Conditioning
- Certified Youth Fitness Trainer
- Certified Fitness Therapist
- Registered Nutritional Counselor
- Member of International Sports Sciences Association

If that isn’t enough to impress you, we hockey fanatics at HockeyShot can’t leave out the fact that Ninkovich partied in Toronto last summer with Kessel…. AND THE CUP! If anything, this only proves that hard work and dedication pays off. The entire hockey community enjoyed watching “Phil The Thrill” raise the cup in June, even Leafs fans ;)

Ninkovich’s swag on and off the ice continues to draw in professional athletes from all over North America. Every season a new top prospect walks in his doors hoping to develop his skills and make it big! Beyond the Next Level (BTNL), that Dan co-owns and works as the Program Coordinator is THE place to work-out. Through professional instruction, Dan helps these athletes push their boundaries ensuring they reach their full potential. His programs are focused on strength training matched with neurological enhancement and sport specific movement training. Eastern European nations and their Olympic level athletes inspire these groundbreaking techniques. Ninkovich emphasizes the importance of movement, not exercise per se, but the subtle art of mastering performance capacity and efficiency to develop the highest performance an athlete can reach.

With his individualistic approach to developing hockey players, he’s sure to offer you something new and maybe even pivotal, to take your game to the next level. Make sure to check out his social media pages, where he is always sharing hockey drills, personal training exercises, and glimpses from his personal life. His enthusiasm and focus can’t be matched (except from maybe our Performance Trainer, Steven Wong), but no one else even comes close!

HockeyShot is excited to have Ninkovich as our Professional Instructor.
